Proving My Innocence

I have never been one of those people who runs with the wrong crowd, but about six months ago, I knew that I was in trouble. I was with someone when she did something against the law, and it made me a suspected accomplice. I knew that I needed help to prove my innocence regarding the involvement, so I started going through and talking with different criminal attorneys. I was able to find a great lawyer that really understood my position, and he did everything possible to prove my innocence. This blog is all about proving your innocence in court, so that you can move on with your life.

2 Things To Do While Waiting For Your DUI Attorney

by Ray Barnes

Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is never a good thing. You may be arrested if you have been pulled over on suspicion of DUI. You will need help to deal with your case if you get charged. That help comes from an attorney who works with these kinds of issues. You want to have an attorney who works with DUI cases because the laws surrounding driving under the influence can be complicated. If you are going to hire an attorney, there are some things you can do to help yourself while waiting for your attorney to show up. Doing these things is very important because they can help you win your case or get your case dismissed before it even goes to court.

Don't Answer Questions

One essential thing that you can do is to be quiet. The police are going to ask you all kinds of questions, and they want to get answers. However, you have the right to not answer any of those questions until your lawyer shows up. When your lawyer shows up, the police can ask all their inquiries, and your lawyer can let you know whether or not you should answer them. All you need to do is to remember not to say anything until your attorney gets there. Ask for your attorney and say nothing else, no matter what they ask you.

Refuse Testing

The police are going to want to do things like test your blood to see what your blood alcohol level is. They won't tell you this, but you can refuse the test. If you refuse the test, the police should have to go to court and get a warrant to do the test. You can also tell the police that you don't want to do any testing until you can see your attorney and ask them about it. Waiting until you can see your attorney and ask them about it will be a good idea because your attorney will know if getting your blood tested will hurt your case. Being pulled over and getting ticketed or arrested for DUI can be very stressful. If this happens to you, you need to have help. Look for an attorney who specializes in driving under the influence cases. They will be able to help you with your case and hopefully help you either win or get off with the least amount of consequences possible.
